Wohoo! I got Internet Finally!!!

Yes its finally here! Internet! Now I have something to do on all those cold lonely nights... Just me my computer and the latest episodes of my favorite shows..
Ok now on to business. We are currently working on a temporary website because none of the graphics people I talked to wrote back, wanted the job, or weren't hungry enough to be able to produce a website in a month. Anyway that should be up in the next couple of days as well as a post with the address. On the site you'll be able to view some of the shows that are up, as well as some of the upcoming shows. You will even be able to order prints of photos, buy a piece, email us, and lots of other wonderful things. The site will be sorta massive as it will be housing both the gallery and the photo business so hopefully it still runs smoothly.
Sorry but for now the video blogs are going to be on hold. Not because I don't want to talk to you but because they take a much larger amount of my time then writing does. I'm also balding not so gracefully and no one wants to see that, I mean really.
Anyway heres the opening poster. I made all the posters myself so if you like them and want me to make one for you thats awesome, but if you are graphics person and feel I suck... well you should of made my webpage for me. :P

Hola

Just a quick update. I'm living in the gallery full time now, working from sun up to sun down and then some. The gallery is about ready! The lights are hung, wired up, and working! We have a list of artists willing to show for the grand opening, and our second event is now in the works.

The second event will consist of a poetry slam/ reading/ compition thingy. Basically people come, read, and the audience judges on thier favorites and then the winners get some prizes. The theme is Valentines Day. We do have a couple out of state people entering that can't come and read so we will have a different set of prizes for them.

Well thats about it. Hope everyone is having a good time and again sorry for the lack of posts. I still don't have internet at the gallery. Later!

Blizzard #2

Yup that's right. Blizzard #2 just hit and the highways and roads are closed again. So naturally instead of working in the gallery I get to up date all of you via blog. It would have been a video blog but all my things got moved to the gallery apartment, so naturally I have nothing I can work on here.

Yes the storm has hit, but have no fear! I have been working my butt off and have managed to get the gallery back on schedule! Yay.. OK so I haven't done all that much to get it back on schedule things just fell into place and they happen to work so well that it saved us a ton on time and money. What can I tell you, as far as what has been done? Good question :) I have moved into the gallery apartment and will be living there full time as soon as the hot water gets turned on. I have also made posters for the grand opening, (with the help of Jessie and friends) painted the whole apartment, got the office in some sort of order, hauled 12 large fluorescent lights into the gallery, moved shelving, (the parents) hung the curtains in a semi permanent position, emailed various graphic designers (for the website), talked to countless insurance agents, opened business banking, created two sets of business cards, and set up a few photography appointments.

We have had growing interest in the gallery lately. People have been stopping in and asking when we will be opening, wanting early tours, questions about classes that we will offer, art that will be available, and whose gallery it is.. No one seems to believe that its mine.. weird. Hopefully this week we will finish with almost everything, but even with all the good news there is one little piece of bad news. The insurance guy said that it is nearly impossible to have insurance by the end of January. So hopefully this does not put a damper on you, the artist that want to show for the opening, as I will not be able to insure the work until the following show.

Like always, I am open to suggestions, ideas, and artists interested in showing. Our goal is to make $9000 dollars by summer time so that the gallery is self sustaining, and from there we will bring in out of state artists (we can't do shipping right now) and eventually out of the country! Big dreams I know, but I think its possible.
